Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort pavilion
Built atop a good location in Sumilon Island, providing great vistas of the surrounding sea and southern Cebu, the Pavilion of the Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort serves as the central area and looks like a giant hut topped with native nipa roofing.
This octagonal open air structure has a base and frame of concrete while the roof has wooden trusses. The nipa is meticulously layered above a bed of crisscrossed wooden members. It exudes an authentic tropical vibe. To protect against rain and strong sun, wooden blinds are rolled down.
The resort’s Pavilion serves as the restaurant while a small lounge area accommodates guests waiting to be checked in or checked out at the adjacent front desk. The swimming pool, bar and outside seating as well as a children’s play area are just outside of this structure.
