The simple airport in Siargao
Sayak Airport, also known as Siargao Airport is a Class 2 (minor domestic) airport located in Barangay Sayak, del Carmen, Siargao Island. The first buildings were constructed in 1968 and the present, modern one was inaugurated March 2012. It serves primarily the island of Siargao which is known for its beautiful beaches and surf.
I like the simplicity and clean lines of this structure. From the outside, its elongated main building is dominated by an inclined roof at the center with glass windows that let in light. However, once you get inside, you’ll be surprised with its white wash walls and ceiling that give it a contemporary and elegant feel.
The main hall is the departure area with its high ceiling. Beside it is a comfortable lounge for a high end resort. Thanx to Anthony, from the comment below who said that this was designed by Architect Cromwell Padua from DOTC.
