Costa Pacifica: A refreshing getaway in Aurora
Its refreshing as the sea breeze that greets you when you arrive in Baler in Aurora. A welcome break from the seemingly endless road from Manila that momentarily changes the scenery from the urban jungle to the fields, the rugged terrain and eventually the waves of Sabang Beach. Costa Pacifica is a refreshing getaway for the weary traveler driving to this eastern seaboard.
The resort, the only high end property in this province, has a certain lightness to it, from the airy lobby, the modern Asian minimalist design, the seeming carefree atmosphere that permeat a seaside resort to the welcoming bright and cozy rooms, Costa Pacifica hugs you with open arms and make you feel home.
I love the balmy tropical resort ambiance and well thought out spaces that interweaves between each other. The well indicated paths that connect each building: small cemented paths from the main that houses the lobby and dining areas emanate to bring you to the private rooms.
The pool areas are semi-public transitioning sections into the more public boardwalk and to the scenic Sabang Beach. At night, the drop lights in the form of globules of clear glass with the lights at the center, hanging from the ceiling of Beach House, the restaurant, is just a marvelous sight. It’s a playful touch that look like lit bubbles floating above, swaying with the slight sea breeze.
The adjacent private rooms, well, except at the structure at the back for the standard rooms and a seemingly different architecture that departs from the main style, have roofs that are inclined and jagged, perhaps echoing the waves of the sea.
