A white wooden house from a bygone era with a well maintained garden in a sprawling area located at a busy intersection. A grand Cebu heritage house, Circa 1900's Casa Uno used to be the mansion of Dr. Jose Castillo at the start of the 20th century. It has been restored into a restaurant, piano bar and function space that opened in March 2014. I think this is a good example of adaptive reuse with great respect for its heritage and architectural integrity. Novotel Siam, better known as Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square is one of the established hotels in Bangkok's center for shopping, entertainment, business and leisure. Built almost three decades ago, the hotel is undergoing a renovation at the upper floors and, fortunately, when I stayed at the hotel last month, the lobby was already finished.
