Bellevue Resort Panglao’s huge nipa hut restaurant
It’s massive! A two storey hut just outside the resort building and near the sea and infinity pool. It’s the most native looking structure in the entire Bellevue Resort Panglao compound yet the most intriguing for me. Behind the indigenous roofing materials that hide most of the interior is a very intricate yet interesting architecture that had me in awe.
I looked up and was just amazed at the beams of wood crisscrossing and radiating. There are several posts made from single tree trunks that call to mind old houses. The hut is actually two restaurants under one roof. At the ground floor is Marea, with its focus on fresh seafoods while the second floor is Cena for contemporary western and Filipino fusion cuisine.
While the upper floor has a good view of the sea, both restaurants really offer good al fresco dining under beautiful architecture.
