Sheraton Bandung’s lobby echoes art deco heritage
One thing that I like about Sheraton Bandung is the colonial era hotel vibe that it exudes, a vibe that is representative of the city itself. It doesn’t have the alienating contemporary design feel that most massive and towering luxury hotels have that overwhelms you with their cavernous lobbies.
The lobby is quite inviting and especially during the day when the sun is still low and the streams of sunlight enters through the wide open windows, you feel that you are in a movie set of a period film. The interior is rich in detail, from interesting patterns and textures on the wall to the expansive and wave like chandelier to the art deco touches of the furniture.
Yes, Bandung’s beautiful art deco architecture is echoed in the details of this luxury hotel and that’s why I love it.
