A native hut as spa area overlooking the sea
Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort in Oslob, Cebu probably got one of the simple yet beautiful massage area I’ve seen. It is an open wooden hut made of bamboo that is built above a promontory of coral rocks that overlooks the sea. The hut is circular with a shallow bamboo fence around that provides a semi-private space while the massage is being given.
The canopy is also made of bamboo with a thin, semi-transparent curtains that when the wind blows, looks like gossamer silk floating. But what makes this simple massage hut stunning is the beautiful scenery of the sea in different shades of blue. It’s quite breezy and relaxing and there’s no need for piped in nature sounds as it’s the real sound of the waves, the trees, the birds and wind blowing makes for a memorable experience.
